The short answer
A wet room on the Eastside usually costs $25,000 to $55,000 and takes about 5 to 8 weeks of construction. Instead of a shower enclosure, the shower (and often a freestanding tub) sits in one curbless, fully waterproofed zone that slopes to a floor drain. It needs careful floor framing and a full membrane system, which is why we only build wet rooms with our own trained crew.

Wet room bathroom
A floor sloped to a linear or center drain, a membrane that covers the whole wet zone (floor and walls), large-format tile, a fixed glass screen instead of a door, a shower system, and often a freestanding tub inside the wet zone. Heated floors pair well because the floor dries faster.
Wet rooms work well in small bathrooms, since there's no enclosure eating space, and they're the most accessible layout: no step, no door, room for a shower seat.
The difference between a wet room that lasts and one that leaks is the floor slope and the membrane. We recess or rebuild the subfloor so water reaches the drain, then waterproof the whole zone and flood-test it before tile. Compare with a walk-in shower.

Bathroom remodeling FAQ
Straight answers from our project leads. Don't see your question? Call (425) 276-6501.
How much does a wet room bathroom cost?
Most of our Eastside wet rooms cost $25,000 to $55,000. Room size, floor framing work, tile and whether a tub goes in the wet zone drive most of the range.
How long does a wet room take to build?
Construction takes about 5–8 weeks, including membrane cure time and a flood test before tile.
Do I need a permit for a wet room?
Yes. The drain, valves and any floor framing changes need permits and inspections, which we handle.
Will the rest of the bathroom get wet?
Not if it's designed right. A fixed glass screen keeps spray in the wet zone, and the floor slope sends water to the drain. Toilet and vanity sit outside the wet zone.
Can a small bathroom become a wet room?
Often, yes. Small bathrooms benefit most, because removing the tub and enclosure frees floor space. We check floor joists and drain location at the consult.
Why choose design-build instead of hiring a designer and a contractor separately?
With design-build, the same team designs and prices your bathroom, so the plan matches your budget from the start. You get one contract, one point of contact and fewer change orders.
What's included in your wet room price?
Design and 3D render, permits, demolition, floor framing and slope, drain, full waterproofing and flood test, tile, glass screen, fixtures, lighting, paint and cleanup.
