How the price adds up
The shower sets the budget. Re-tiling around an existing tub is the lowest-cost path. A walk-in shower with glass costs more, and a large or curbless shower with a linear drain costs the most because of the waterproofing and slope work behind it.
Tile area adds up fast. Tile is priced by the square foot installed, so a floor-to-ceiling shower in stone can cost several times a standard porcelain surround. Vanity, fixtures and heated floors add on top.
Moving plumbing and older homes cost more. Moving a toilet or drain adds plumbing and often permit work. Homes built before 1980 often hide plumbing or wiring that needs updating, which can add 5 to 12 percent.
The calculator gives you a planning range. After a free in-home visit, Renovision designs the bathroom with you, handles the city permit and gives you one fixed price before work starts. Bathroom cost questions
At 2026 Eastside market rates, a powder room costs about $11,000 to $23,000, a hall or guest bath $23,000 to $44,000, a tub-to-shower conversion $20,000 to $39,000, a primary bathroom $47,000 to $86,000 and a luxury spa bath $90,000 to $165,000.
The shower is usually the biggest line item, followed by design, permits and management, plumbing and electrical, the vanity and tile. A curbless shower, stone tile, heated floors or moving a drain each add to the price.
On-site work takes about 1 to 2 weeks for a powder room, 2 to 3 weeks for a tub-to-shower conversion, 3 to 5 weeks for a hall bath, 5 to 8 weeks for a primary bath and 7 to 10 weeks for a luxury bath, plus design and permit time before work starts.
Replacing fixtures and tile in place often does not need one. Moving plumbing, adding circuits or an exhaust fan, or changing walls usually does. Renovision handles the permit with your city.
